The s&w e series is probably one of the better out the box 1911s.

You can get a colt series 80 loaded out with beavertail, skel hammer etc in the XSE model.

Gunbroker will be your best chance of obtaining either right now.

SW1911TA. Comes with night sights and a rail. My stainless one was $1199 locally.

Here's all the info from S&W's site. If you wish to get one without a rail and other extras, it is listed here too.

Those S&W's are very easy on the eyes.
And, Melonite is an excellent surface treatment.

Yessir.

S&W uses them to line the rifling on their AR15s now. I'm not sure if it's superior to chromium but it must be pretty damn tough if you can line a barrel with it.

Glad I could help. You can't go wrong with any American 1911 in my book. If you end up changing your mind about brand, it's not a game changer.

Just go to bing and search it up. You'll eventually find something.

Don't be afraid of the scandium 4.25" I shot one the other day and was really surprised at how good it handled. Not a fan of the external extractor but that thing is fine. Pictures do it no justice either.

Colts are getting harder for civies to purchase.

Now that the Marines are going back to the Colt, its gonna be that much harder to get a Colt 1911. If you can find one, get it.

Nce little article: LINK

I looked at a Kimber the other day, sweet side arm, almost got it.

Then I thought about the wrath I would be facing at home. I didn't get it.

The S&W E series is a great out the box pistol. I was trying to talk LouisianaChessie into one yesterday.

Those warriors are some good lookin pistols. How much difference is there between that and the cqb?

Fwiw I've shot the cqb so I'm not looking to be scrutinized for asking about a custom pistol vs a production

Pelican pawn gun shop in Gonzales has a colt delta elite /stainless in 10 mm I have been eying. Have not owned a 10 mm before but passed on it due to all the ammo I have brought home the last few months.

If I really really wanted it I would have purchased but I have recently re-homed a corral of ponies and they would be too restless without building a larger corral.

900 would be a good price, 1k would be fair.

It's in good shape? Holster wear?
