I 4th a glass boat. I love my 18' xpress but i absolutely can not cross anything with a chop. It is perfect for fishing the marshes around biloxi marsh. But, when i try to run out to lake borgne or run south down the MRGO it beats me to death. My next boat will be a panga marine. I would do some research on panga boats.

Just fyi that is the rolled edge version not the full liner.

Is it me or are Panga's over rated? Ive been doing research and they seem like the saltwater version of a fish & ski. OK at everything, great at nothing.
They require a lot of customization and size to make a bay boat out of one.

I know a cat selling a 2012 H20B rigged out 2015 Yamaha 150, power pole, 70# MK, etc for $18,500.

What would you consider them okay at? They can get pretty skinny (shallower then most heavy glass boats) and they handle the chop extremely well. They also are great on fuel and can be powered by a lot less motor than most heavy glass boats require. Not putting down any other boats in this thread. Just my .02! I love the frontier though it would be very hard to turn one of those down for the right price. I will probably move out of my xpress and into a bigger glass boat sometime next year.

Andros/Panga Marine definitely not overrated. A guy took a 20ft model out of Venice and caught a sword fish off one by himself. Name another 20ft boat you can swordfish out of and also draft 6-8"

5th on a glass boat. I came from a h20 bay and now I'm in a purebay. I'll never go back just bc of the ride and dealing with that dam paint. Idk if it's just me but it seems like anything over 20ft on the xpress the bow looks to turn down? That's a no go for me..

I saw that video and looked at buying that guy's boat. Great video. Great boat.

I knew my back up would come soon. Yeah, everything i have read on them points to them being awesome boats. You can find some great deals on used boats. I read about a guy going across the border to get one. I don't know if my balls hang low enough to do that.

Panga Marine and Andros cant really be compared to their central and S. American counterparts.
You would be greatly disappointed in buying a South of the border version (Imemsa) and expecting the boat showed in your picture at the top of this page.

No, i realize that. He purchased the hull across the border and brought it back and finished it out. If i remember right i think the hull as like $3,000.

21' Frontier
Man that seems like a good deal.
I was using a 2007 h22 and I just bought a 2002 21 kenner that's shaped similar to the frontier(made by the Kenner ppl). I've taken that h22 to east timbalier, in Breton sound, and lake p and it doesn't handle a chop well at all. The h22 has held up well but I have heard about the welds breaking in the expresses.

Coworker of mine has an Express that is at the factory for the 3rd time with broken welds.

Well this has turned into the Xpress hate thread
I have a 2014 H20B and love it. I've only had it for a couple of months and haven't put it through anything extremely rough but I've been impressed with how well it takes a light chop and passing wakes. I guess my expectations were just lower to start out. I bought the boat to fish the marsh and hunt out of. I guess it just depends what you're looking for.

I don't think it's express hate but rather the astronomical price tag for a 3yr old aluminum hull. Hell he could find a 32 ft cc that's only 8 yrs old for the same price and with 2 engines.

I have that same model as you and like it a lot too. It gets me out on lakes Borgne and Pontchartrain, on decent days and is great in the marsh anytime. They are good boats for a certain price range; but that one in the OP was just priced too high.

I agree the OP Xpress was priced way to high. I paid $17.5 for mine. That picture is from the day I bought it.

What's the overall length on trailer of that 21ft Frontier? I'm wondering if it would fit in my 26ft deep garage.
I'll eventually have to step up to a bigger boat one day.
