So you are spending $2500 on a bow and youve never done it before???? I suggest buying used before you dive in headfirst. Check out LASM or local archery shop for a used one. No need to buy brand new when a used one will do the same and is already set up...

I don't know much about bow hunting at all, but I am curious...you are obviously preparing for a couple of "hunt of a lifetime"-type trips...why would you use a bow for this instead of a rifle?...

I'd go to Bowies for that

the used market for left hand bows in minimal. finding one in 29" is even harder. i will continue to go on these trips every year (this is not a once and done thing). so i have no problem spending a little bit of money to buy a good set-up i will use on at least two big game hunts a year.

both of these hunts are bow only. i have a gun hunt in wyoming for elk the at end of september.

i am not in BR. Closest bowshop to me is an hr a half. no one has any left hand bows in stock for me to shoot.

Go to a local archery shop and start shooting bows, talk to the pro and find out what works best for you.

I user G5 Montec broadheads. They are machined from a single chunk of steal. Montec

Go to the local shop and tell them your budget is $2500. They'll take good care of you.

BOW- Obsession Evolution or Phoenix

SIGHT- Black Gold Surge (multi pin) or Ascent Ambush (single pin)

REST- QAD HDX

RELEASE- Scott Lil' Goose

STABILIZER- B Stinger 6"

ARROWS- Easton FMJ

BROADHEADS- Slick Trick Magnums

You'll also need a quiver. I'd recommend a Tree Limb with a riser mount bracket.

Pretty much for $2500 you could get top of the line everything. Just a tip, when you look for a bow, speed is not everything. Speed bows tend to have a less smooth draw and feel less comfortable and also deliver more vibration and shock to your hand.

You can get a new bow completely rigged out, and a nice rifle and high quality scope for that price

I don't know about all that. Even middle of the road glass in the $1,000+ range

You need to go shoot, throwing a bunch of money out there won't make it fit you any better.

You can pretty much open up a Feild and Stream Best of Archery article and pick the top and stay inside your budget.

As I've said before... No one I've found has any left handed bows I can shoot. Thanks rzrbck. One shop I went to told me Mathews no cam. He personally shot a Hoyt Nitrum. I'm just trying to get some diff opinions. The only two definites are left handed and 29" draw.

BFE North Dakota. They have Scheels here which is a huge sporting goods store and a couple of local shops. The closest one is 120 miles away. They all want 20% down on a specific bow to get a left handed one I can shoot.

Where are you located? Louisiana archery in Pineville or Hewitts in Ferriday are both good shops that will likely have some used bows.

I am lefty and have a Mathews Drenalin 29" draw length that I will let you shoot any time you want, I live in Hammond. Hell, I may even part ways with it if you like it.

The bow would be a bowtech rpm 360, qad hdx rest, spothog sights, I have a limbsaver stabilizer that works fine, release would be a Scott, Carbon express maxima arrows with grizzlystick Maasai single bevel broadheads. If you have the money, why not go all out? And for the 29" draw, most bows are going to be adjustable from about 25-30" so you're good on the draw.
