Incredible place. It's connected with Kluane NP in Canada and Glacier Bay NP in SE Alaska to form the worlds largest UNESCO Heritage site. Wrangell-St. Elias itself has 9 million acres of park and wilderness.

I think it's funny when you use these numbers because it's hard to even understand how big that is. Seriously. When I go to Texas to the lease it takes a half a day to drive all the roads and it's only 3200 acres.

One of my favorite places. I remember seeing Cranberry Rapids, or some such name, on the AL/CAN on the way up there that was pretty awesome too. We did Grand Teton/Yellowstone, Waterton/Glacier, Banff, Jasper (Icefields Pkwy) on the way up. Went down to Valdez, up to Denali, Gates of the Arctic, etc. all in one summer between college and grown-up. Best trip of my life.
