Are they crap? who makes them for Browning? They seem like cheap p.o.s. at the store, but I bought a little ultralight combo at BPS as a backup bc it was on sale for $30

eta: might be a good camp reel combo to leave up here for when ppl borrow the place

I have a browning ultra light spinning reel and it's by far the best ultra light I have ever bought for the money.

Not sure about their rods but the reels are made by Doyo and Dawon. The same two companies that make the vast majority of Abu Garcia, Pflueger, Lews, etc.

I just put a Medallion ultralight rod on a pfleuger for my wife. I like it just as much as the Falcon I have on mine.

I had bait caster combo for about 70 bucks. It lasted about three years which was good since I never cleaned it and abused the frick out of it. I bought for this purpose though. Really like the rod and have another reel on it currently.

Friend of mine bought a garage full of sporting goods from a sports rep who accumulated them over the years. I bought all the fishing gear for fitty bucks. Couple of browning reels were in the mix, ultra lights. No issues.
