Took the Citori out today to shoot some clays. When gripping the gun, I noticed that the stock was loose and rattles a bit when I twisted it. When I pull the stock one way and the trigger guard the other, I can see maybe a half centimeter of gap between the metal and the wood.

I've scoured the forums and such, but can't find much on how to fix this problem, short of sending it back to manufacturer. Some boards say that if you (the owner) removes the recoil pad, that you void the warranty. Gun shoots fine, its just annoying.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are with you.

When you spend that kind of scratch on a gun you want it to stay intact.

Obviously, Super Glue is the first and best option here. Followed closely by duct tape.

Check to see if there are some small holes in the recoil pad. You may need to use your fingernail to stretch it to find them. Most have holes to fit a screwdriver. These may lead to screws to remove the pad.

What river said. Take but butt pad off prolly w a Phillips and u should see a large hex nut. If u tighten that it should snug up the but stock.

You Tube of Stock Removal

Don't shoot it loose, and when you tighten the stock check to make sure you don't have any cracks in the head of the stock.

ETA: If you don't want to do it, bring it to any gunsmith, should be a quick job...

Those slits in the butt are SUPER tight. (Heh heh). Having trouble getting a Allen wrench in there, but seems like I'm headed in the right direction.

What wick said don't shoot it loose it may crack butt stock. Not a tough repair may want to put some thread lock on if it's a chronic issue or a new lock washer may help

And we're back in business. Thanks fellas!

Yes, it's a white lightning. I'm temporarily displaced to DC for work and it's the only shotgun I keep up here...and it's totally registered...totally...yep.

Anyway, most of the hunting I do up this way is quail, grouse, pheasant, and dove. Last season I got invited to go shoot Canada's and didn't have time to make other arrangements. I absolutely hated throwing #2's down the citori. It kicked like a mule and it just felt wrong. I've decided to keep it to #6's and up.

Bring it to Jim's and let them send it to Browning. I just did the same with my maxus and an old 870. Fixed both and I only paid $37 shipping.

Make sure you don't over-tighten. That can crack a stock if the wood swells due to heat or humidity.
