British Columbia vacation spots

will be going up there this summer for vacation and already have plans to spend some time in the Whistler and Victoria/Vancouver areas. I'm wondering if anyone recommends some off the beaten path type parks/cabin lodges with some good outdoor recreation around? I've been over towards Banff AB before so I'm looking more along the coast or Vancouver Island area. I appreciate any ideas!

Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary is cool, but they only allow a few people in the park at a time.
Fjordland, Bella Coola, are places to look at. Outer coast of Vancouver Island has some nice lodges. Okanagan Valley is nice, but not sure I'd plan a vacation around it.
