Looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic in Baton Rouge. Possibly A/C compressor related.

Window was kind of fogged up this morning so switched to defroster and then smelled an electrical burning smell. Leaving work today my A/C isn't blowing cool. Get home and it sounds like a tin can clinging around under my hood.

Any recommendations are much appreciated.

if you want to drive to Walker to save a ton and have good work done call 667-4111.
Friend of mines shop. He won't put something on that you don't need and is very reasonable.

If you do need a compressor for that truck he will probably be in the ballpark of $700-850.
That will include a New Compressor,Drier, and expansion valve along with a system flush.

Thanks. I know the labor is particularly pricey on compressor replacements for my truck because they have to go through the dash and completely remove it.

Get with Gordon at Tony Lee Auto in BR. Been doing work for my family for a long time and he's the man.

Have you even looked under the hood?
It sounds to me like you a/c compressor locked up,probably damaged the serpentine belt. The sound that you are hearing is frayed ends flapping against something.

Get that belt looked at right now, that's the bigger issue. It runs, your water pump, alternator, power steering.
If it breaks on the road, you will also have a towing charge,or service call, because I am pretty sure you won't know how to fix it.
