High cotton, my dog looks identical to yours when we let his coat grow out. The SOB loves fish too - he jumped overboard when my wife was bringing a trout in.

I love the light colored eyes, we lucked out and got that too.

Bump.

What can one expect to pay for a Boykin? I may be looking to pick one up in about 8 months. Awaiting an email response from just ducky kennels and still searching for other breaders too in case that doesn't workout. I'm in Georgia fwiw.

I'd say in the $800-$1200 range for a well bred Boykin from what I've seen. I don't think you can go wrong with Just Ducky but also look at Brandywine Creek Boykins. They have some of the best lines out there and seem to be very serious about health clearances etc. Also, their pups have been performing very well at Boykin Nationals. If/when I decide to get another one that's where I will begin my search.

Yep looks like they are. I never noticed that, I always just assumed they were in South Carolina for some reason!

Also, you can google "midsouth boykin spaniel retriever club" and see if you can find a contact on the club page who might know about some good upcoming breedings from club members. Butch Herb is involved with the club and has one of only 4 or 5 Boykins to ever reach GRHRCH title. I believe the club is based out of Alabama but has members from the surrounding states. If you speak with someone from the club that speaks highly of an upcoming breeding then I would 100% consider it and know that it is a responsible breeding. You also could get plugged in with the group for training days etc.

Paid $800 for my girl 5 years ago. So I would expect to pay upwards of that now.

Brandywine has some top notch dogs. They placed well at the SpringNationals.

That's impressive. I talked to them briefly last year via email, but they didn't have any upcoming litters. Also talked with Hunters Rest Kennels out of sewanee, TN and they wanted $1500 per pup.

Now that we as a family are done with playing baseball, we might try to make a run at that in the next year or two.

Ah. Well if you end up finding a female to breed with I'd possibly be interested in a pup. Not really looking to pull the trigger until mid 2018 or beyond.
