From time to time we will create contest amongst the guys who are hunting to make early and late season hunting more fun. This past Saturday we had a contest for first doe killed gets an extra buck. We had a guy hook us up with some seed and we intended to give him some deer meet. 5 of us were hunting all texting the whole time, one guy missed, a few others only saw spikes and spotted deer. Just makes it fun. Any of y'all do things similar when the bucks aren't really moving?

I like y'alls style. Started bowhunting 6 years ago, definitely find it to be more of a challenge.

I just try to watch out for snakes this time of year!

When I'm bowhunting it doesn't matter if a doe walks out or a ten point, my heart starts pounding and I get excited. Not the same hunting out of a box stand with a rifle.

I started bow hunting after growing up doing archery at camp, with my dad, and at my grandfather's as a kid.

Shooting a deer with a bow, even a compound bow, is spiritual. Killing a deer with a bow, or anything else you're hunting, is the best.

Nothing else compares after. It took me four years of hunting with a bow to get a kill. It's easily the most memorable of my life.

Never killed a deer with a gun, but sure do love bow hunting. The squeal of a pig when the arrow hits is delicious.

We all throw money in the pot on biggest doe about every other weekend. Talk a lot of shite to each other while we wait for shooting times. 92 lbs won it opening day this year. I thought I had won the second to last weekend last year but got beat. Had 141 pounds and then a guy rolled in with a 145 and a 127. It was cool to see 7 does laid out on the skinning rack at one time last year. It was like those old pictures where they would stack them on the horses.

Pigs?!! I need pork. We've got them on my end but never see them during the day. They've also caught on to the traps.
