Looking for the best salesperson in Baton Rouge to work with in buying a new bow and getting it outfitted. I am new to bow hunting and I am willing to go in on a non-busy day (Monday?) in the morning in order to find someone willing to take the time to let me try out some bows, make a purchase, and not feel bad being a total noob. Bowies, Cabelas, Spillway??? Just need a contact name, possibly someone on the board who works in a bow dept. Thanks!

I would say a local shop like Bowie's or Spillway would be better than going to Cabela's or Bass Pro. I go in Spillway pretty regularly and the sales people at Spillway are really knowledgeable.

I would rather use a local shop if possible, but a good, patient, knowledgeable salesperson means the most.

I can't speak for Bowie's, but you won't be disappointed at Spillway. Spencer at Spillway really knows his stuff. I go to get my bow tuned up before every season at Spillway.

roy hendry in woodville, ms. is the best bow salesman i have ever worked with. bowtech, pse, and excalibur. you won't leave until you are satisfied, including shooting at outside targets. he takes his time. he explains things. he wants you to be happy!

That was the deciding factor on me not buying a Bowtech 5 years ago.

just what I needed to hear.

the last time I was in the bow department the only thing that kept me from buying the hoyt carbon spyder was the fact they weren't available for purchase yet.

Just picked up a 2015 Hoyt Nitrum 30 and man, what a sweet sweet setup. I am in awe of how nice and great shooting this bow is.

Turbo or ZT 30? I was choosing between a Nitrum Turbo, Nitrum 30, Carbon Spyder Turbo & Carbon Spyder ZT 30. I pulled the Nitrum 30 back last and knew immediately that was the one. I MUCH prefered it over the Turbo cams. Harvest brown carbon limbs and orange accessories if anyone cares

If you don’t mind, What did you walk away spending? I want to try out the new Hoyts and thought about a used Carbon Element, but damn the Hoyt’s are expensive for a rookie! Shot a Bowtech Assasin a few years ago and loved it but had nothing post 2000 to compare it to, But it was a great price.
