Corrosion on oil filter is also normal per Honda. We're at a standstill now til the oil analysis comes back. Dealer thinks I'm crazy for being so worked up about condensation in the oil.

I have never seen oil look like that and thought that it would just be condensation.

I'm no mechanic, but that's some strange looking oil.

Are you local to this dealer?

Reason I ask is that, IMO, a local dealer will usually move mountains to make the customer happy.

That oil is normal color for when you mix water with it and then slosh it around inside an engine. That color is a good indicator that you're gonna need a rebuild

What they are talking about is condensation in the engine, which happens all of the time. Your engine flat out had water in it

If they feel that milky oil is normal, walk through the showroom and check every other bike they have. Make them prove it. Seems easy enough.

Looks like all the times I changed my oil after I sunk my bike. Straight water in there.

Condensation my arse.

It is a local dealer. I live 2 miles away. In my hometown.
The story Friday was that the condensation formed because they drive it from the fenced in yard to the show lot in the morning and at closing. If so that means like 120 cold starts to put the 9 miles on it, 200 feet at a time. Not good. They said all the outdoor atvs and utvs had oil like this Friday. Failing to mention that this one was supposed to be coming out of a crate, as stated.

Another beef is that Honda is offering 2.99 financing. I have a credit score north of 800 and did not qualify for it. WTF? I questioned them on this too BEFORE I bought it and got nowhere. I left a big deposit and figured that 1% was only worth 40 bucks if I didn't pay it off early and let it slide.

Friday, I told them if it has more than 0.2% water or coolant in it, it belongs to them. I'm confidant it will be much higher than that based on experience with farm equipment. Hardest part is waiting for the dang OA- Once the Honda engineers see it and realize its a Honda oil, I should be OK. Never buying a Honda again, but we'll see what happens with this one

The 2.99 is a promotional rate.

When they submitted your app, they purposely didn't click the 2.99 box.

Why?

Honda pays them a percentage of the amount financed if they do so.

I'm guessing they hit you at 6.59 and you "negotiated" down to 5.59?

Sorry buddy, they held some points on your interest rate.

Yea they did the same shite to me with the rate. I was aggravated but said frick it bc im paying it off within 4 months of buying it.

I really wanted the power of the Kodiak but frick a auto transmissions. Yamaha is stupid for not offering a manual.

Honda is stupid for clinging to it.

The yamaha belt drive is infinitely more durable than the Honda trans. And, if you do somehow manage to mess it up, a new belt is 180 bucks.

I'll take that over Hondas new auto transmission rebuilds.

Or, you know, an engine dumping coolant into the mix....

My 1990 Honda Fourtrax 4x4 manual trans has been working fine for 26 years. Brakes not so much

How many belts would a Yamaha need in 26 years?

Honest answer, likely zero.

My old rhino had almost 10k miles on it when I sold it. I bought a belt to change it, and the only way to tell the new from the old, size wise, was to put a Mic on it.

Well the rest of the atv world disagrees considering Hondas with manual transmission have been their best selling forever.

There was a 17 Kodiak and 16 grizzly in our lease this year and both had issues in the deep mud and water.
