Kill switch should help this BUT if you're going fast in a narrow channel even that won't stop you fast enough. I hope they find the guy alive. I worry about this shite every time I run my boat.

I just don't get how this happens. Even after a few thousand hours of running It's still a foreign concept.

Unconfirmed but I heard it was a family of 4. Still looking for the dad. Again - this is unconfirmed.

How many guns were on board?

Not funny given the situation.

Know a guy that fished on a Wednesday night cookie jar tourney at Bayou Segnette.. Had a Bullet that ran in the mid 80's.. Hit a partially submerged log and knocked the foot off his motor while he was on the pad.. When it came down, it went totally out of control and wound up backwards on the bank just missing someone's dock... Lucky for him, he just suffered a few bruises..

It was 2 people - a husband and his wife. The wife has a kid from a prior marriage, but that's the extent of their children. The child wasn't with them this morning however. Happened around 6:30 am.

Do not even understand the need for this. To each his own I guess.

Don't know them personally, just know of them. From what I've been hearing, the guy was very familiar with that area.

I passed the bayou chevreuil launch about 5 and it was still full of cops and game-wardens. Some in boats going own the bayou. When my dad passed around lunch two bodies were being brought in.
Very sad. Prayers to all involved

I don't know if you've actually driven a high performance bass boat, but when the boat is on its pad, it's like driving a sports car... You have complete control... However, losing your lower unit driving at a higher rate of speed is where the trouble happens... Fortunately for me it's never happened...
My Bass Cat ran 72, but that was fast enough for me....
