Longtime lurker with first post. Getting trolling motor and radio for my bayboat. Who would you recommend in Baton Rouge area to install these properly and charge a reasonable rate? My experience with Tracker boat center at BassPro was horrible.

I know it's hard but do it yourself. It's your baby, but do it.
Trolling motor is cut an dry, the radio will take some time and situating.
Just do it.

what Quiet Tiger said. BUT, if you aren't mechanically inclined and a lot of us ain't, or don't have the time, call Chris Bonfanti at ABC Boat Service. i've had nothing but good luck with him.

Neither of those are very difficult projects, but someone will probably charge you +/-150 in labor. I would do the trolling motor myself, youtube probably has a how to somewhere. For the radio you are probably better off taking it to an audio shop. If you want to try and tackle it yourself, again check youtube. Take your time and think it through. I did a radio in my boat last year, hardest part it cutting on your baby to mount the speakers, but take your time and when you're finished, you will be happy you did it yourself. Like QuietTiger said, she is your baby.

OP is the boat already wired up for trolling motor? Are you just replacing and upgrading, or full install?

It came wired for the trolling motor from the place I bought it from. Just hesitant to do it myself since this is my first boat.

Really easy to do if you plan ahead. What kind of boat? Any pictures of the area? I'm sure we could guide you thru.

What questions you have?

Do you already have the trolling motor? Motor guide or minn kota? 12, 24, or 36v?

Boat is a Seafox 200xt. Trolling motor will be a Christmas present. Guess I will wait and see exactly what motor I end up with and take it from there. Thanks everyone.
