I know most of you will laugh, but I thought it was cool he actually responded. My question was...

quote:

Mr. Dance, I've always enjoyed your fishing shows and I noticed a few years ago you have some Texas Longhorns in your pasture when doing Mahindra commercials. Do you still have longhorns? I have 27 head outside of Shreveport, LA. I also know Donald Cranor up in Cotter, Arkansas where you filmed a show last year. We fished with him the week after you left and had a great trip. Anyway, I don't know if you'll respond, but just wanted to introduce myself and see if you still had longhorns.

I've hung out with him a couple of times. The man is a fisherman. I mean, if he's staying in a hotel, his assistant makes sure there is a pond on the premises. If he has business meetings at 8:00 am, he will be chunking a spinnerbait in that pond at daylight.

Then, when they break for lunch, he's right back out there fishing. He -- literally -- fishes every day.

When he gets back from a trip, he fishes around the dock while the engineers and all deal with the gear. I went with him offshore one time. When we got back to the marina, he started catching pinfish around the cleaning station.

He's a monster.

I always wonder if Bill Dance ever gets to crank up the big motor on those fancy bass boats of his in those farm ponds

I want to upvote for Bill Dance, but downvote for the 24-hour longhorn talk.

Bill Dance Bloopers are awesome. I could watch them all day.

The guy seems as genuine as they come. Always been a fan. But then again, all the legends seem like that. Roland, Hank Parker, etc.

Would love to hang out with them for a day. Pretty cool that he responded.

That and the "I don't know if you'll respond" pressure guilted him and made it happen.

I'm not a big name dropper in every day life, but anytime you meet someone new it usually turns into, "Where are you from? Oh yeah, I know so-n-so from there..."

If you make that connection all of a sudden it ties you two together with a common thread.

I haven't responded yet. This is a front runner so far, but if anyone else has an idea, question or statement I'm open to all possibilities except dick pics as a response.

I don't know if I would respond. If I did I would wait awhile, thank him for reaching out and wish him well.

For sure. I'm sure he gets pestered quite often. That why I was so surprised he responded in the first place. I expected an automated response that had nothing to do with what I asked.
