A buddy of mine says this his is favorite time to go. Says less boats with people in woods, etc. What do they OB experts say?

Catch the weather right and it's definitely the best time of year

Absolutely, Great time to go. This year has been kinda funny as far as usual patterns, but like other people have said, most people are in the woods.

Got a report yesterday from a friend. 40 trout and 10 reds by 9am in Calcasieu River just south of the salt water barrier. Shrimp are everywhere. Hope it keeps up. I'll probably skip the game Saturday and go fishing if the reports and decent weather hold up.
