Big Lake Fishing Charters - Short notice info

Looking to possibly take a guided fishing trip this weekend. Other than calling all of the charter services i was wondering if anyone has every had any luck/experience with short notice trips and if so, with who? Do some of the services take short notice trips using fill-in/standby guides? Or am i out of luck?
Suggestions appreciated.

You may be able to get a spot with someone who had a canceled trip, but I'd imagine most are booked. Especially on weekends.

those guide services are stacked 10 deep. if booked, they will find some local guy who will work under their aegis, but won't be one of their best guides.
