Chic-Fila is putting on a $150 tourney where a $1000 is given every hour for biggest fish. Pretty big tourney from what i have heard.

Went out of Spicers this morning and just got back. They had been doing well until the last day or so. Caught a few reds and trout but nothing to brag about. If you want live shrimp you have to be there when they open or they will be out. We fished with live shrimp, gulp and voodoo shrimp with equal results. Reports we heard from everyone coming in were all the same. Huge amount of baitfish everywhere with large amounts dead in the refuge

We fished hard. Tried a little bit of everything. Hit spots that had been productive before and everything in between. Guys I talked to said last week and weekend was great but it just turned off.

Lake was very smooth and the water was clear just not much bite. The canal from the refuge launch to west cove is full of dead shad. Looks like a limestone road and smells like arse

Launched on the west side of the wier and went into the marsh yesterday morning and didn't see any dead. On the way back in we started seeing them by the hundreds blown against the bank then it got progressively worse. We loaded up and were going to launch on the east side and run into west cove but it was solid dead shad. I took pics but don't know how to post them.

Like the lake needed any excuse to suck more than it already has.
Think I will hold off on the fishing until mid week and maybe just go somewhere for bass...Thanks for the report....

My quick trip in the afternoon was nothing but frustrating today. Went in the kayak to the blue camp and spent my whole time fighting the wind. Water looked like a milkshake too. Still plan on fishing tomorrow so I hope it clears up by then but with all this rain though I don't know

frick the wind. After fishing tournaments in 30mph winds, I pick my days now. I'd rather not fish than be miserable and fishing Nesquik
