My dad just ordered him some I think around 700 is what he said.

Wow, I didn't realize rx glasses were so expensive. I don't look forward to my eye sight going out I've had the same pair of costas for 7 years. Harpoons with blue 580g reflective lenses for $225 at the time. Just shattered a lense and they're fixing them for $100. I priced a new pair at $249 I believe.

I always get mine from a buddy at the tackle trap. thetackletrap.com

He'll hook you up. Call him is best. Cheaper than eBay and you can order exactly what you want. No worries on him not coming through.

My pair of Costas (Mag Bay)sank to the bottom of the Caribbean three weeks ago. AS soon as I got back, I went looking for their exact replacement.

On the Costa site, they were $250. Amazon had the exact same glasses for $150. Got em via Amazon Prime this week.

Paid $700 for mine with the 580 glass lenses. Dropped them 3' and shattered one. Went to replace just the lenses and went either the 580p (poly lenses), it was $418 just for the lenses. (Gold inner and grey on the outside). I have the camo frames.

Bought some Hamlins on Steap and Cheap for $89. They were amber 580p. Bought some blue polarized 580p Cat Cays at Academy for $160.

For the uninitiated those are both Costas and those are both good prices, especially so for the Hamlins.

Can you not just buy new lenses for them? I have nicked both pairs and they won't be a warranty fix. Can I just buy lenses?

The way to get the best price is if you know someone who can get them at cost for you through an eye wear distributor. My mom is an office manager for an ophthalmology group and I get my Costa's at cost which is around 120 depending on frames and what lenses I want. I got a friend a pair with the prescription lenses for about 350.

Costa does not just sell the lenses, you have to file a warranty claim which I think is 89 for the the 580g lenses.

Geez, I think you might be getting ripped off. I have one pair and my wife has had two pairs of RX 580g's and none were over $500

One of my work vendors sells costas and gives to me at a discount, sucks he cant get prescription though. 400's are around $80-110 and 580's are around $130-160. not sure if that is cost or slightly over margins.

I can buy the through a special program and get them for 50-100 dollars.

That's how crazy the markup is.

Mine were sent back for new lenses when my RX changed. Wiley X determined that my frames were not aging to their satisfaction, and gave me brand new ones. Now, I realize in the overall scheme of things the frames are not that expensive, but I thought that was pretty damn cool.
