Did black creek when I was a kid, with my Dad. This was before all the bigger places and outposts popped up. When we went there was a guy that owned a gas station near the creek. You'd go to the station and he would drive you, in your car, to the creek and then come pick you up at your designated take-out place when done.

Also, do they still do artillery training nearby (I think it was Camp Shelby???)? I remember camping on a sandbar listening to the booms of the artillery all night long.
