if you're going to get any, get some thin ones

I don't know what kind I have, but I only wear my left hand while hunting. I keep my right hand in my pocket.

Fleeced lines neoprene for the ride out and decoy arranging, and under armor glove/mittens that I waterproofed myself. They won't stay dry if I submerge them in water, but do a good job in the rain.

Whichever company makes a pair of water proof glove/mittens first is going to make a billion dollars.

ive got Seal Skinz...they're pretty thin so you can still do things with them on, they're waterproof with a liner inside them, and they keep my hands pretty warm...recommend them highly

I wear some nice insulated gloves for the drive. I usually don't wear gloves while I hunt. If I do, I have a thin pair of skiing gloves that are black and weatherproof.

for the most part, I use a set of convertible mittens/gloves...use them mitten-style until I see ducks and then flip back the finger gaurd on my trigger hand so that I can shoot....they are fleece with 40 gram thinsulate....if very cold, I'll throw a hot hands warmer in each an stay toasty warm....

the only drawback is that they are not waterproof...I use fleece lined neoprene in rain or when messing with decoys....

I also like the mittens that you can "peel" back to expose a fingerless glove. I have a pair of fleece mittens and am going to buy a pair of the Cabela's brand soon.

I have these and they are pretty good. I wish they were waterproof but they do a decent job of keep your hands warm even when wet.

I need something waterproof too. I have tried to silicon water proof an nice pair of fleece lined DU hevy gloves but they still get wet. I bought some unlined neoprene but they leaked at the seams.

Has any one tried to simply wear nitril. vinyl, or latex gloves to stay dry?

You mean hunting with these?

not hunting with them but using them inside of larger gloves when putting out deeks or picking up birds to keep the hands dry.

Personally I would think the nitril would last longer and fit tighter. The down side is they will not breath so any sweat will accumulate.

I have some solid black seal skinz that are awesome. Waterproof and relatively thin so I call and shoot with them on. It's nice not having to keep up with multiple pairs.
