Going to fish a new lake This weekend with very stained/muddy looking water. It's right on the Arkansas - Louisiana border so the weather will be clear with with highs in Low 80s...i dont know water temperature.
I'm guessing the spawn is over by now and wondering which baits to I need to use? Colors, types, etc

Buzz Bait and Frog early, Black/chartreuse square bill and chatterbait later. Junebug Speed Craw on Texas rig especially if you can find some thick vegetation.

I like smaller baits this time of year. Speed craws mainly.

I assume you are fishing the large tourney on black bayou Hosston this Saturday. We are expecting a large turnout. Frog, Frog, Frog... That's all I'm going to say!

No I'm actually going to a private lake just over the border from Springhill… its about 35 min from your tournament. Good luck and I assume what works on that lake will work on mine. That red clay had severely stained the water on the one I'm going to.
