I hear you Ace. That safety does look a little awkward. My Shield does have the safety, the Sigs have a decocker. Kahr has no safety. I would like the P226 I'm sure but man, those things are pricy and I shoot my SP 2022's pretty well so wasn't sure I could justify the cost difference on the 226 no more than I shoot them.
Played with a 92FS in the store and liked the balance and slide action but I have a chance to actually shoot one or two later this month so withholding any decision until then.
Thanks for the feedback - I will try to find this thread after I shoot one and give a range report

Daughter has one. She loves it. Very accurate with it 92FS

Yes I know about the Kahr's and the wife's CW has been a good shooter for a subcompact .380. No offense to the Glock fans, but that 92 (to me anyway) is a sexy bitch but I have to make sure I like how it performs. Not like I have to have another one anyway I suppose.

I own two 92FS, one is an INOX. I have big hands and I like the feel of the 92 with a hogue slip on grip. I can shoot it accurately as well.

You're obviously using different criteria than I do to select a handgun (and somehow, we both ended up in the Sig camp - sort of.)

I'm specifically not a Glock fan (although I am an owner) - the ergonomics are off-putting and the squirt gun trigger takes some getting used to. Having said that - the simplicity and reliability of the design is without question. There are minimal corrosion worries.
Contrast that to the classic Sig pistols, which I actually enjoy shooting, which are also reliable - somewhat less simple (mainly the decocker and SA/DA trigger) - but I'm comfortable with that manual of arms now - even with the SP2022s (although I just recently learned the takedown trick).
I shot the SP2022 quite low at first, but it's getting better.
I still don't like the 92 - but it's America, baw. You want to get a pistol from a company that makes great shotguns? Knock yourself out.

I got the trigger/D spring kit for mine, along with the guide rod, skeleton hammer, and extended mag release. D spring makes a good bit of difference. Might swap springs and get some numbers on trigger weights.

Ok, finally shot a 92FS last week. Long DA trigger but not that bad. Pretty accurate for me on first encounter. Decided to go with the 92G version with decocker/no safety since that will be closer to the Sigs in operation and found one at a decent price. Will probably change hammer spring to a D spring or one from Wilson Combat.
Thanks for all the feedback

I have shot several of them and actually looked at one in the store yesterday. This will be the next pistol that I purchase. The only semi auto that even comes close to feeling as good to me is the P90 with molded pachmyr grips.

I looked at P226s today - I may buy one next Saturday - I've been threatening to do so for a decade.

If I had a 92 itch I would hope that I would scratch it with a 226 or fnx

I would love to have a P226 as well, but the Beretta is half the cost and I like it fine. Already have two of the poor man's 226, that being the SP's

I put the D spring in mine a while back. and bought a couple of them so I have a spare.
If you're in BR I'd be happy to meet up with you and help you install it. I have a good bit of experience taking down the 92.
I guess I didn't show you my gun earlier so here's some pron. My 90 two is shown here with an INOX 96 upper (.40 S&W):

Thanks for the offer bapple but it will be a while before I am back in BR. Glad to see at least someone else likes the 92's. Looking forward to getting mine - should arrive next week.
You like the D spring trigger or think the Wilson or Wolff might be better ?
