Played a round of golf this weekend at Joseph M. Bartholomew Municipal Golf Course in Ponchartrain Park and we came across a huge Bald Eagle's nest with 3 adult eagles and babies in it. A male and female were hanging out on branches above the nest and another Male landed with food in its mouth and you could immediately hear the screeching chicks in the nest.
Pretty cool sight. Anyone else play this course?

Bald eagles are freaking badass. They're settled all around the inter coastal canal as well, you can see them hunting for fish in the canal if you're there at the right time.

Cheers to 'merica and ole glory

I had no idea the course was there. Nice clubhouse (rebuilt with FEMA $) but the greens sucked.

Not bad for a quick last minute outing, it's a good meeting point between friends spread out throughout the Metro area.

The eagle watching was a nice treat...

Awesome sighting. Now if we could get them to spread throughout the city, and teach them to trow hippies out of trees

Used to play this course a ll the time. Never crowded.

It's good for a quick game.

Bald eagles are everywhere. They are no longer Threatened or Endangered, but are protected as they are the nations symbol.

they are protected just like all other raptors and birds of prey (falcons, eagles, hawks, owls). It has nothing to do with them being uncle sams mascot
