Not familiar with Kubota, we get very little competition from them here. In the 5K range Hustler 54" Fastrak is $5499, ZT3100 hydros, KawasakiFS engine, Commercial deck w/ lifetime warranty on leading edge (where most damage would occur) lifetime warranty on frame and 4 yr/400hr warranty on the mower.

Too many companies selling lawn equipment based solely on HP, deck width, price!! All Kohler and Kawaski engines are not the same! Vast differences in hydro drives also! Just having a hydrogear hydro transmissions tells u nothing! Get the ACTUAL model of hydro, get the actual model of engine! If you're dropping 5K on a mower do your research and buy from a dealer who'll take the time to answer ALL your questions!!

WilsonP,

what about the ariens max zoom 60" with 25 courage pro v for $4999 from home depot. Seems like a great mower for a damn good price. Reviews are really positive as well

POS.

We have 2 kubota 72" mowers at the plant and we got talked into buying a bad boy 72". The bad boy stays in the shop but the kubotas keep on trucking.

The Kubota also has the ZT3100 hydro transmission. The engion is a Briggs and Stratton. Any idea how that compares to the Kawasaki FS?

You do realize that those Kubotas cost about twice that the Bad Boys do, right? For a plant it does not matter but most homeowners don't want to drop over over $12k on a mower and would rather do routine maintenance.

Wasn't really a big price difference. The bad boy has the caterpillar engine.

The problem we have is with bearings. Which is probably the same bearings in the smaller machines.

At some point in time something is going to break, regardless of the brand. Make sure you have dealer support. Meaning they are able to work on them in a timely manner and parts are available. Typically outside of Kubota its a crap shoot with the other brands on this.
