Buy once, cry once. Instead of buying cheap and upgrading later, buy a great brand (Noveske) and then figure out what you want to upgrade (which won't be much on a Noveske). I also suggest building one with quality parts.

A Bushmaster m4 a3 at the local Walmart runs about $870. Sounds like a good deal. I'll be checking my local Academy!

Yeah, I'm no black gun guru by any means, but my understanding is that Bushmaster is a respectable weapon. And that's a great price, IMHO.

actually most S&W's come with only a chrome lined chamber where most bushys come with the whole barrell chrome lined.

The bushmaster is a really nice AR. Nothing wrong with that gun at all.

Just saw that in an ad. Might have to check it out.

I posted in the last AR thread about classicarms.us selling a delton upper and lower parts kit with all other accessories for $450. All you need is a stripped lower reciever.

the same kit from del-ton.com is only 20 bucks more, yet you have the ability to customize a bunch of stuff, like chrome lined barrel and such, that might end up saving you money in the long run

some of their upgrades are kind of a rip off though


only other issue ordering from del-ton is that they build to order, so it takes 4-6 weeks

The s&w sport actually has a vert nice melonite coating that actually has some advantages over chrome lining. Never heard that s&w's werent fully lined or coated. You sure about that?
