I work nights and have tomorrow off. With the water as high as it is, is there anywhere worth going or should I take the night off? I may try that St. Tammany fishing pier if there are any good reports from the north shore.

I tend to go to Grand Isle and hit the fishing pier or Elmer's Island but I don't think I'm looking to make that kind of drive.

Grand Isle but not the pier.
Go along the road with shrimp under cork on one rig. Another with shrimp on the bottom. Bring ice chest with beer and you'll come home with a mess of fish and a good time.

Rarely see good reports from any of the fishing piers in St. Tammany (Mandeville or Slidell). It's hit or miss at best. Also, check the Slidell pier's website. They're only open till midnight on weekends but it might start on Thursdays, I'm not sure.

The only place I know if that's producing well at night right now is the camp piers on Lake Catherine, but unless you have a boat or know a camp owner, good luck!

Edit to add: just checked the Slidell Pier Website.

You mean Highway 1 after you turn left but before the bridge onto Grand Isle where the pier is? Hope that makes sense.
