Anyone switch what side they shoot from?

So I am right handed and shoot from the right however I am left eye dominate. I am a pretty decent shot with a shotgun however struggle with targets going from right to left. Am planning on getting a new shotgun and thinking of making the switch to shoot left handed. Anyone done it? How hard is it?

I really don't have a dominate eye and am ambidextrous when it comes to shooting.
Can shoot pretty much equally as well from either side, especially with shotguns.

Just had a thread on this the other day, I got the same problem. Its awkward as hell but I aint hittn shite the other way. Shooting isnt the hard part, its the awkwardness of swinging it and shouldering it to me. They say it will get easier......we'll see

Just because you started batting for the other team doesn't mean you have to change your shooting shoulder

I am the exact opposite. I have always shot long guns right handed. I shoot handguns left handed though. When I switch to left handed with long guns, it feels really awkward shouldering and such, but I hit just about as well. I shot the biggest buck of my life left handed with a muzzle loader; because he came at me from behind and to the right. No way to get around on him unless I switched hands. He was just as dead.

Left eye dominant here too. I shoot right handed, but sight in my .308 left handed. I feel more stable with the bolt action that way. I hunt with it right handed.
FWIW...I shoot pool better left handed too. Go figure.

Switched when I was little. Used to line up left eye to aim while shooting right handed. Get a lot of burnt powder on my face.

No clue. Have done it since I was 6yo shooting robins. Found out in 10th grade Ag class for hunters safety I was left eye dominate. Tried to shoot left handed and was better for seein but just weird shouldering like most.
Just how I roll now. Two weeks ago on the closing Sunday, 4 guys and 1 kid shot 13 birds. I shot 6 of them from the middle of he blind.

Tried aiming with both eyes open today, that's a no go.

I am right handed and left eye dominant, as well. I shoot right handed, but thought about switching... Picked up a gun and tried, and it was just too awkward. I may need to give it a other go if others have positive results.

Like I said I'm a pretty decent shot, not sure if it's worth the time to try and switch.

Both of my daughters are right handed, but shoot left-handed. It happens.

This guy. I'm Left-handed and right-eye dominant. Starting hitting a lot more stuff after I figured that out

both eyes open
Only way to shoot anything.
Right handed, right eye dominant, but more comfortable shooting distance with the left hand. Speed I favor my right.
You can learn any shooting habit with time.

Shoot left handed but right eye dominant. Never had an issue shooting besides shells and casings flying across my face. Scoped rifles aren't an issue but I can see how a shotgun would be. Ain't broke don't fix it but I may try to switch over to shoot right handed just to see if I can. It may even bring my numbers up but at the moment it feels awkward as hell
