Thinking of getting an SSK 12". Any feedback on these or MI in general?

I had one a long time ago. Ive handled the new stuff and I wouldn't hesitate to buy their stuff again.

I'm running one on mine and think it's fine, no issues.

A buddy of mine has one that I've felt before. Very slim and lightweight. Would recommend.

Any issues with barrel heat making it impossible to touch?

Probably not. Since it's free-floating, the air acts as a pretty good insulator against heat. Plus you only need to worry about this if you're doing tons of mag dumps.
