Seriously though. It depends on the conditions obviously. Assuming it is in excellent condition, I might start as low as $250 and see what kind of reaction you get. 4 is too high and they can't be expecting to get that.

I'ma try the $250 route. Dang, I am so bad at this though.

You'd think Monroe pawn shops would be LOADED w/12 guage pump guns in either BPS,Benelli, or 870.

Seriously, of the 5 pawn shops I've checked, I've found TWO. Both are at the same place. The Super Nova I was talking about, and they also have an 870 12 guage that's a DU model. Asking $300 for that one. It's in a box, but I guarantee you they only paid about $50 for that one.

Bad time of the year to be looking for a good duck gun in a pawn shop. Stock has likely been diminished in the last 30 days. Best time to make a deal is about May.

If that DU model is in "box condition" that isn't a bad price. If you could get it for about $225-250 it would be a steal. IMO of course.

Pretty sure I could that one for $250. Surely they'd come off $50, huh?

If you think that's a good deal, I may do the old "I'll take either the DU one for $225, or the Benelli for $250. Whichever you want to part with."

Think that's a good call?

I see why you suck at talking them down. Just reading your post you sound like they shouldnt come down. If your going to do it, youhave to believe its too high. Then grab the gun and point out every little spec, scratch, flaw, etc... you can find. Work for it man and convince them they are asking too much. Thats how you do it. Good luck

Benelli Super Nova.

Black/not Camo.

Asking 4 honey buns for it.

New one (camo) is 6 honey buns.

How much should I offer?

I wouldn't pay $400. I picked up a Nova (not Super Nova) from a classified ad earlier this year for $200. Not sure how much the Super is worth, but you can sure get a pump shotgun that will reliably kill stuff for less than $400. Hell, half the folks on this board swear by the 870 (i have 2 of them) and I think you can get the 3.5" for a hair over $300 new.

Man, I FREAKIN SUCK WITH TEETH at negotiating that kind of stuff. Which is really odd. I'll go tooth and nail with an IRS agent, but a damn tattooed up/bald pawn shop owner scares the chit out of me.
