Anyone here have good luck with cell signal booster for rural property?

I have a friend who has one bar of signal on their AT&T mobile phone inside their house at their ranch...he says that AT&T is only service with any kind of signal. I researched and found some Wilson Electronics cell signal boosters that claim to turn one bar into four or five bars. Anyone here ever used a product like this to boost the cell signal for their property? If so, was the signal improvement significant?

Shouldn't this be on the tech board?

We use one at the camp in the marsh. They work pretty well. Outside of the camp you can get spotty service but inside I can stream the baseball games on WatchESPN, but I don't know the brand at the camp.

I've seen them at different camps. Never had one personally nor do I know the names of brands. But I can testify that there are things you can buy that will boost cell signal in rural areas. I seent it.

When living in a rural area couple years ago we bought the M cell booster from ATT. It relies on an internet connection though which we had. The area was kind of mountainous so cell reception was pretty spotty. Went from zero reception in the home to 5 bars

And just so Kahlunda realizes, once you get such a thing then people are going to expect you to answer your damn phone while your at the camp. I prefer for people to think I'm lost in the Bermuda Triangle in those situations.

Almost nothing. We are in and out of service without it.

Do they have wifi?
Instead of buying a booster I got a new iPhone that had wifi calling.
Think just the 6 & 7 have the feature.
I don't drop calls now walking inside.

Had one in my old truck. They work well. IIRC, Wilson is a different company now, and the boosters support multiple carriers and also 4g at the same time. Definitely worth it
They boost your phone's Tx/Rx from the typical 0.3-0.5 watts to the max of 3 watts like those old Motorola phones

For the most part he's going to just have to try it.
Its kind of like a tv antenna on the edge of the reception range. It may work for your neighbor but not for you.
Get one with an outdoor antenna and get it up in the air.

I was looking at the WeBoost (?) boosters typically sold to OTR truckers, $400.

If it is kind of remote, get an omni-directional antenna. Very remote, get a yagi antenna, find whatever carrier's tower he uses, and aim it at that

coworker of mine had bad cell reception inside of his house as well. ultimately, the cell provider gave him some kind of booster that worked extremely well. unfortunately, I don't know what it was or how it worked.

Have one at our camp that helps. The box on the inside is orange and white. That's all I remember

works like a champ at my house
went from practically zero service to no problems

I'll second that Wilson Cellular is a decent brand and can be had on Amazon.

Just looked in Amazon. Suckers ain't cheap. I have terrible coverage at my house in the middle of Baton Rouge, if AT&T wants to keep my business they need to provide me with one. Small price to pay for their horrible service around town and the massive screwing through the flood.

Does YAGI work really well? Deer camp up in Woodville has spotty service for AT&T. We have an old cell signal booster but you have to be standing right next to device inside of camp for it to work. Wondering if it might be time for an upgrade? They have a 30 day money back guaranteed.....
