I have 60k miles on my truck and they are saying I have a bad wheel bearing. Seems pretty early for that.

Jesus. No fun. Are they pretty easy to replace? They quoted me $575.

Replaced one at about 75k on my Chevy truck, first transmission went out at 35k. Second one at 101k.

Yikes...that seems a bit steep.. With parts and labor for one, I think it was around 3 or 350$.

what year model? if it's a fairly newer truck, the bearings are now inside the rotor assy. so......yes.....you have to change the entire rotor. 575.00 is actually not a bad price.

I did mine on my 04 over the weekend. Took 20 minutes. It was a Timken bearing/hub assembly

Bearings are a wear item, they are supposed to be changed out at regular intervals and that can depend on how you use the truck. Bearings themselves are pretty cheap and not hard to do, did the set on my truck every 50k miles. Built into the rotor hub too but not at all difficult with a press kit.

Make sure they only use Timken bearings...

all the other aftermarket ones and genuine GM are trash...
