We fish below 10. Love it out there, it's amazing how much the rover changes after the interstate.

We have floated the river from 10 to down around sandy creek. Once you get below sandy creek you have to deal with all the tiki tubing trash. Trashy people and actual garbage.

Yeah, tiki tubing certainly represents livingstons finest. I would hate to have a place in the river where the tubers float down.

DEQ or DNR may be able to help you.

Deq has a hotline. They'll be the ones to call. They've been made aware of the discharges into the Amite earlier this year. They did a flyover a few months ago

The pit should have an indirect discharge general permit But most lie and say they won't discharge to avoid getting one.

U won't get much out of the corps No need wasting time

I think I have tracked down someone who is an owner or at least related to the deceased owner. I'm going to call her next week and see if we an work out something to close off the discharge and figure out what to do about the property line.

If that plan goes poorly, which I expect it will, then I'll let DEQ handle it.

To be perfectly honest, if they let me close off the discharge with my own equipment and gave me permission to fish/hunt the ponds, I would be a happy camper. Having first right of refusal at sale would be nice too but I'm not holding my breath.

I had a feeling that you weren't going through all of this trouble just because you were feeling environmentally conscious...

They also dumped oil barrels all over our property, so I will have to disagree.

Let me know when you are looking to get those oil drums properly disposed of.
