Anyone ever kayak Bayou Vermilion / Vermilion River in Lafayette Parish
Probably going out there this Sunday.
Wondering where the best launch site would be and any tips.

Or possibly "Rotary Point" off West Bayou Pkwy

I see them on the river often, there is a kayak launch below the river ranch bridge, standard launch at rotary point, and another further down cannot remember the name.

Last time I was in Vermillion River was late 60s - some buddies and I were swimming and a dead cow floated by. That did it for us. Hope things are better now.

I used to knee board the verm in the 80's it was gross. Better now... the bayou vermilion district works hard to keep it clean.
