I was looking at one a while ago,it's pretty awesome.

It's something for those into gimmicks.

I agree with that somewhat, but I like how they got around the problem of making the weapon longer,to hold more ammo.
I can see how the design could work well in tight quarters, and especially security on Ships and such.
I would like to shoot one.

Isn't this the firearm that some people have shot their hand off with (the non-trigger hand).

I don't think so,but if not careful, you can catch the meat between thumb and index finger, behind the pump.

?? Really?
It has a forearm grip.

Yep, it is.
I thought so. I read about a few of those incidents and pretty much decided I will never have one. I like my hand. I'm sure all of them are a result of user negligence, but it just seemed like an accident that doesn't happen with any other gun.

That's aftermarket I'm pretty sure. They don't come with one.

That handle grip,is aftermarket, but I still have a problem understanding how a shooter could end up with their hand in front of the barrel of a pump shotgun.

I don't really know how either. It's been a long time since I read about it and I've forgotten. All you have to do is google search KSG hand injury though and you can read about it.
My guess would be because they are so compact, if you are shooting and pumping quickly, your off hand could extend to far on accident and then you pull the trigger before realizing what happened.

Probably because your pump shotgun has a 26-28" barrel. Not that dumbfounding when the gun's muzzle starts where the pump ends.

Yeah, some of those gimmick loving guys like Clames mentioned( lets see how fast we can shoot it)

The only purpose I could see for this gun other than to just frick around with is for home/personal defense. I can assure you that if I'm in a position where I have to use a weapon under those circumstances I'm going to be shooting as quick as I can accurately. I wouldn't want to worry about blowing my hand off as I fend off/kill an intruder.

There would have to be a huge disconnect, for your left hand to slip forward and lose grip, then your right hand keep pulling the trigger.

No one is saying it happens everyday or anything, but it has happened. If you want to purchase the gun, then by all means. I was just pointing out that this has occurred. Mainly so that if you did decide to purchase it you would be conscious of the fact that it has/does happen with this particular gun.

Buddy of mine has one. It's fun as hell to load it up and shoot random crap in the woods with it. Outside of that not really sure it has a purpose.

I believe the problem was something broke with the for grip that was being used maybe? Been a while but that's what I seem to remember....something broke and a hand when in front of the barrel.

Thanks for all the info. Wow how horrific. I could see how that could happen. Looks like his grip broke, hand slipped, extended beyond barrel and he pulled trigger. Ouch.
Is there a semi auto version?
