I just signed up a week or so ago and they keep emailing me about it. Can someone explain how it works?

I filed a claim on it about 25 years ago when some punks broke in and stole several of my guns. Just incuded a police report and they paid it. Can't remember how much the claim was for now? Maybe 1000 bucks? I've slept since then!

Do you typically have to pay extra for the insurance?

Considering all the boating accidents around this place, surely you'll get some decent advice based on first hand experience.

At that time, the insurance was included with the membership dues. I also had homeowner's that paid some of the claim and the two policies together mitigated my dollar loss. Would rather have had the guns, though. How much is the insurance now? I'd get it again.

You sign up and get coverage for 2500 included due to membership in NRA. You can increase your coverage for more than that but then they will charge the premium difference.

it's a good deal
about 100/yr per 10000 value
they require you to file a homeowners claim first and then make up the difference. You still have to eat your homeowners deductible

Check your homeowners policy first as you may already have full coverage under your contents coverage

Sounds like the better value is the Eastern insurance plan that Wick brought to the board a few years ago

30K worth of coverage

also covers binoculars, scopes, accessories

does NOT cover flood damage

$100 deductible

$125/year

do NOT have to file through your homeowners first, which means you do not have to pay that deductible and NO CLAIM on your homeowners insurance

I'm glad you posted that. I've never actually tallied the total cost of all my guns. It's much more than what I thought
