I was thinking it might be a fun project.launch some pumpkins, watermelons, armadillos and such.
What woods should be used?,simplest design..etc..

I think it could be badass. The disgusting, demoralizing choices of ammo are endless.

I think most guys would love to have one. Even a small one could be fun.

That left a mark

The slingshot idea was probably first, until they tried to launch a rotten baby pig, then they came up with the trebuchet.

My niece and I built this for her high school physics class. It had to launch tennis balls 100 yards :)

That melon had to have broken her face.

Did you make it work? A tennis ball seems like bad ammo. Weight, resistance, all taken into consideration, probably hard to aim.
Launching a tennis ball 100 yards that way seems impossible.
looks like some nice work though, and I'm sure y'all had fun with it.
Kudos to you working with your niece that way.

Thank you very much.
I guess, if I build one, I want it to rotate 360 degrees. Maybe build it on a truck frame?

I built one for my high school physics class back in the day. Had to launch coke cans as far as possible. Ours broke after like two launches
