About a month early for me this year. I guess between me getting a new lease on the river and went and rode around looking for stand spots this past weekend, And planting dove fields last week has really got me in the mood. I enjoy fishing, and it passes the time. But give me a cold morning in the woods any day over the heat in a boat.

it never left. I thought killing turkeys and pigs would help, but it only made it worse. I'm ready to fling and arrow.

Me too! Turkey season was great but I started shooting my new recurve yesterday and I'm pumped. Gonna try and just hunt with the recurve this bow season.

After march here in mississippi it is usually hot, and im fishing and busy with vacations and such during the summer and it normally dont hit me until mid july when working on dove fields. But this whole week i have found myself looking at hunting pics, new guns, feeders, and deer stands

I told my son yesterday that it's already June 1st. Just 4 more months and we'll be in the woods doing what we love.

Eh. Still a lot more fish to catch, beer to drink and sports to watch.

I think I would be if all my hunting land wasn't 15 feet under water!

LSU Football fever comes first, then hunting fever follows very soon after. (usually after the first loss )

Once baseball season ends I go into a mild depression until football season and then hunting season.

I hear the whistling wings and soft quacks of the majestic Hollywood in my dreams. Can't beat it.

Yep I'm pretty pumped for this hunting season. Found out I'll be in Central Ohio for the rest of the year working and it looks like a great place to kill a deer. I've been scouting online for most of the day.

Absolutely!

I don't have many opportunities to hunt; usually go deer hunting once a year and duck hunt once a year with friends. I've been listening to the MeatEater podcast religiously and dreaming about hunting out west.

I'm leaving for Zimbabwe soon and will get to hunt with some missionaries over there

Well, the hunting season hangover has certainly fizzled out (finally). It's to the point where I dont want to even think or talk about ducks by end of Jan.

But right about now I start scratching around for "ducky" chores to piddle with. Patch dekes, rig new ones, etc.

Can't wait for dove season. Nothing like shooting some slow arse birds to knock the cobwebs off before poppin some teal the next weekend.
