I will be in the woods tomorrow morning. What are the chances I will hear any birds gobbling with all of this cold weather?

I was up there last weekend and didn't hear a single bird. I saw a few mid day in the field but couldn't get close enough.

Will be hunting 15 miles east of Clinton.

do you watch the pressure on your days that you go turkey hunting? that might have been your problem last weekend. i dont think the cold has too much to do with it.

eta.

Report: went to my place in south tejas yesterday morning (39 deg, high pressure, low wind), called in 7 jakes and 3 hens, shot two coyotes, and saw one gobbler henned up about 100 yds from me. he will die Saturday morning.

Nope I have never thought about it to be honest. What is considered high/ low pressure? I see today the pressure is about 30 in.

I've had decent luck in cold snaps like this. Sometimes the gobblers get pretty fired up with weather changes. Give them a try...

Man I miss turkey hunting. One of the most underrated hunting experiences. My old property in Natchez was absolutely loaded with turkeys. We had people from mossy oak and places like that hunt it and film it. Not sure if it ended up on tv though. Every morning all you had to have was a hoot owl call, and you would get 6 gobbles in different directions. Just pick 1.

The new place I hunt has some turkeys but its nothing like my old property. Best turkey hunting I've ever been around.

I expect the birds to be gobbling in the morning. At least that is my hope.
