Seems like a pretty cool cartridge. It's be a nasty deer round in thick cut-over too.

I've wanted to build a "big bore" AR15. Can't decide between this or the .458 SOCOM.

450 bushmaster is another option
you can buy a ready to go upper for a standard AR15 lower

If you handload it's the better choice against 450 Bushmaster and .458 SOCOM. Basically a big pistol round and the same bullets for a DE or a .500 S&W Mag will function.

Read an article that said it has similar ballistics of a 45-70.

I had no idea it was that powerful.

My uncle has a 50 beawolf ar. It's a beast for sure.

Nope but I've shot an AR version. It was a beast. Half a dozen rounds and has a shoulder bruise for a week.

I have one -- bought it back when they first came out, for hogs. It works.
