Anybody expect to have any doves hang around after this storm moves out or expect a lot of them to push South and West out of the state?

I really don't know what to expect. Last year I missed the opener for Oregon game but one place we hunt smoked them and the other hardly got a shot with Lee blowing through. Think we're going to go the our spot where we are pretty much shooting city limits doves so hopefully a few of these hung around.

In all honesty, its hard to tell. Two things could happen
1. Dey gone
2. The birds could have rode it out and not ate for a couple days and othet birds got blew in from other locations and you wear them out sat-monday!!!

Beings i also have put in a shite ton of money and hours into a field the past 2 months i hope for option 2... But being realistic

I'm still going sit in a field with a gun, but I doubt I do any good.

Nawth La folks probably still have a few, and those with good fields.

I can't remember the last opening day I didn't limit out. Hurricanes or not. I think it's becasue the last several years we've seen more and more doves that don't migrate and hang around here all year. Some of our fields have had several hundred birds on them for the last month and a half. Those doves arent going anywhere. There will be some migratory birds that will leave because of the weather, but we have enough "locals" around that we'll still smoke em. Providing it's dry enough to get in the fields of course.

Generally that's the case for us, but I was shocked last year that a friend's place that always kills birds over sunflowers had nearly a skunk opening weekend. We limited the next weekend and the rest of the season every weekend we hunted. They usually have 50-60 people limit easily all weekend on the opener but Lee screwed them up bad. When the sunflowers come up we usually will limit, it's when they don't grow well that things get tougher.

I only need 15, plus a few extra if they have some eurasians flying.
