Trying find info on a motor that belongs to my Dad. Supposedly my grandpa first used it on the day World War I ended in 1918. Not sure if it was new or not but its atleast 95 years old. It was sold by Sears & Roebuck but don't know who the actual manufacturer was. Anyone here have knowledge of antique boat motors? Know of anyone that does?

Thanks

I thought that but from info I have found online elgin made motors for sears from 1946- the early 60's. I haven't found anything as far back 1918. Haven't found any markings identifying the motor yet. Only markings are a forward and backwards that is on each side of the top of the gas tank.

The only manufacturer at the time able to product quantities of outboard motors was evinrude.
