Another snake id thread... Poor little guy must have drowned

Found this little guy belly up around my koi pond. Hopefully, it's the baby of the snake living in my attic.

And he does look like he drowned. I'd imagine it takes a lot of rain to drown a snake.

Body color ranges from yellow-tan to reddish or grayish-brown and is marked with darker brown-black crossbands that do not extend onto the belly. Older individuals may be nearly solid brown-black. Belly is marked with irregular dark marks. Obvious dark bands run from each eye to the corners of the jaw. Scales have obvious lengthwise ridges (keels). Like most watersnakes, it is sometimes mistaken for the venomous Cottonmouth, but is thinner and has round eye pupils.

Here's an example of a Banded Water Snake...



Coloration can vary and can be more reddish looking like the OP, but you'll notice the different banding pattern. The snake in the OP has broader bands - hence the name Broad-banded water snake.
