Dude caught two almost 8 lb trout in the lake, but hadn't signed up for STAR. The guy who caught them is on the right, looking a little pissed. Must have been taken right after somebody said "You're in the lead for STAR."

Had a client catch a 7+ on Elmer's the other day. Asked him how that Nautic Star tasted fried. "F you!"

How does somebody fish salt water and not sign up for STAR?

Don't know? Don't care?

Guy has signed up last 6 years and fishes GI tons during summer. Said it just slipped his mind. I'm sure he's praying somebody scales an 8 so he can sleep better.

I don't get it. I have a buddy fishes reds all summer long in the Delacroix marsh. I try to tell him, but he won't sign up. Last time out we even discussed the goofball who gave the truck back. I guess he thinks it's not worth the $25.

friend of mine's nephew would be leading the ling/cobia/lemonfish division by a mile if he would have signed up (which he usually does)

I understand that it's a gamble and that some people think $25 is a little steep for a "raffle ticket" but the prizes and variety of categories make it worthwhile IMO.

I have fished without it, but I was hoping I wouldn't be the one to catch the winner and face the embarrassment

Can you sign up for STAR at anytime? Can I do it now to be eligible for the rest of the year. Not sure how that works.
