We caught 2 at grand terre Saturday. They were not that big. We also caught, jacks, Spanish mackerel, reds and trout

I caught a few in the 5 to 7" range last year in the cast net. That's the biggest I've seen in a while though. I don't know of anyone that actually targets them. Fall is supposed to be the time the bigger ones move in.

I'd be more concerned with the Loch Ness Monster about 30 yards off the starboard bow.

Heck, you can catch them all the way up the MRGO to the industrial canal. Problem is, they are only 5"-10" long.

I've shot them on rigs a bunch of times, and caught either them or pompano out of Venice and Galveston. They make delicious sashimi

I saw a small commercial boat at leeville shrimp dock with boxes of pompano. They catch them in gill nets and didn't know that was still legal. He said they are better $ than yft

Yep, he may have passed for 5". I thought i had mr. goggleye hanging out at the beach when i first pulled him up.

pampano. Have caught them in barataria usually late in the summer. Very good eating
