for those of you who took advantage of the buy-back, what did you replace it with? Is there anything besides aimpoint that is worth looking at?

I went Aimpoint Comp M4 on my 5.56 and 6.8. Think I might try a Aimpoint Pro on the 7.62 I just finished building.

Didn't someone here just buy that new Vortex optic that looks similar to an eotech?

Haven't seen anything that looks like an EOtech. But the Vortex Strickfire II is very close to the Aimpoint Pro at about half the price. I wish they offered it with a smaller MOA dot because I would try it on my 7.62 instead of the Aimpoint Pro. With my astigmatism a 4 MOA really looks all F'd up if I don't shoot with prescription glasses.

Seems like Eotech took a huge hit in the industry due to their issues, I wonder how much market share they lost.

Also the guys on our SRT team got the trijicon MRO's last year at some point, and some of them noticed the zero drifted after sitting in their units between training days (train one to two times a month). So there may be an issue there.

I should have done a little searching. Looks pretty slick. If I build me a SBR I might have to look at one of these. I just wish I could find a Aimpoint 3Xmag-1 in stock some where. I'm hoping that the dioptric adjustment on it allows me to shoot without prescription glasses.

I believe that the prism style optics do not distort when viewed by those with astigmatisms. Pretty much all of the usual optic makers have prism optics.

And without knowing exactly how the optics were mounted there is no way to know what the issue is. People more often blame the glass rather than themselves for not mounting the optic correctly. After a few heat cycles and recoil impulses all optics have to be rechecked for torque on the fasteners and gap creep in the mounts. Even the best will drift a few thousandths and even worse when using quick detach mounts.

Replaced mine with a Trijicon MRO. Love it! Be sure and buy the cover for it also.
