All terrain tires
Posted by jmkidder on 4/26/14 at 5:43 pm00
Looking for some all terrain tires for a 1/2 ton 4x4 serria. Like the bfg's but also wanted to see what y'all have to say. Will have to deal with a little mud (no ruts not deep) during hunting season but after season mostly hwy / road miles. FYI it's a third vehicle and will only see around 7,000 miles or so per year.

I have Bridgestone Dueler AT's and I really like them. Aggressive enough to get me through mud and good on the road.

20" rims also noise is a big factor. Would like something quiet.
Have really been impressed with my Goodyear Dura Tracs. Have 40k miles on them and still have another 15-20k left. Actually very quiet, and are as good off-road at the camp as some mud terrains I've had. Kinda pricey in 20s though

I got 275/60/20 Cooper Discoverer AT3's for $990 mounted and balanced. Just as quiet as stock, have a manufacturer treadlife warranty, and are a 4-ply, so they aren't heavy. Someone here said they were running rebates on them
not lot ago...said he got the same tires as me for $750-$800 total. 275/60/20 is a 33" tire btw.

Have these on my tundra.... great tread wear. Only time my see mud is when we hit the camp for hunting/fishing. Very quiet as well. The tire I was going to go with, but had to wait 6wks to get at the time were the Michelin AT2s...

Nah brah.

Get duratracs. They're pricy, but I've got 30k on mine and have at least as much left. They pull hard in thicker shite and they handle clay really well. I'm dead serious when I say they're just as quiet as the stock tires that came on my f150 (Rugged Terrains). I've had two different mud terrains, AT/KOs, and Duratracs. As far as I'm concerned, as long as they keep making Duratracs, I'm gonna keep buying them.
