Someone gave my old man a 5 year old male who has been "professionally trained". He said the dog ate his new golf cart seat so he was either getting rid of it or shooting it. My dad took him. The dog listens really good and retrieves dummies in the pond pretty damn good.

We try to go teal hunting this morning with the dog and my 2 year old chocolate. My chocolate has been around cats, dogs, kids and chickens and I have never heard him growl.

At the house, as soon as the other dog gets out he attacks my chocolate pretty viciously. We separate them. Put them in different trucks and head to the blind. My dad brings the other hunters and dog to the blind and comes back to get me and my dog. He has cujo with him.

As soon as he hits the bank cujo attacks my dog who is being a big pussy just sitting there. I tried to stop cujo with my hands and he growled at me, my dad hit him in the head with a piece of pipe to stop him. My dog was crying and cujo was whipping his head around .
Cujo was between my legs biting down on my dog so I punched him in back of his head, he turned at me and I thought my nuts were gone. My dad cracked him in the head with the pipe again and he stopped. I hurried my dog to the truck and he brought cujo back to the house. This all happened in the dark before we even put out decoys.

My old man wants to keep the dog and keep him away from other dogs. What are the chances this dog bites a kid and would you keep him? Any tricks to associate him with other animals, he is 5 years old.

My dog has a 1/2"×1/2" gash on the inside of his ear now.

I'd have already shot the dog.

2 male labs that don't know each other will usually growl and sometimes brawl. But it sounds like Cujo may be batshit crazy. And if he's 5 and still tearing shite up like the golf cart seat he's abnormal. Just shoot him.

I would have shot him there, but all the guns were already in the blind.

In my experience, aggression towards other dogs does not translate to aggression towards kids.

Hell my dogs will get into it if they are both in the same room of the house and I'm in the room with them, but outside they are perfectly fine.

Why would you put them back together again when it was apparent they didn't mix well the first time?

I am no dog expert but I don't think dogs being aggressive with other dogs = aggressive with people.

A dog has to know that its handler is the alpha and an unwelcome sign of aggression will be met with a swift reaction from the alpha. Thats all I have to say.

Sounds like your dad is gonna need to keep that piece of pipe handy if he plans on keeping Cujo.

No doubt. I had a gyp who thought she was the Alpha by biting my wife....until I bit her ear...never had any more problems with that dog (well until her final days...but I gave her a pass on that...some dogs get funny when they know it's their time to go).

He wasn't telling the whole story so somebody might actually take the dog.

I've only been around 1 chippy lab in my life, and he wasn't even too bad. This is like the reverse "unicorn" of labs.

Cut his nuts off and let him chill for 6 months. That ought to fix it. My GSP was like this until we clipped him. We called him Violator, bc if it was near him, it was getting mounted.

Why the hell would you or he let his lab out without a leash the 2nd time after he'd already jumped on one dog?

Sorry to hear that - was just LOL while reading it though.

If you want to keep Cujo, I'd make sure he is introduced to some Tri Tronics justice. If that doesn't work, I'd just shoot him.
