300 plus a 7.62sdn-6 is infinity more quite than any 10-22.

I have a DD upper and love it. I would get another in a heartbeat. However, for my SBR, I am looking at the AAC shorty or a bastardized Noveske upper.

The AAC upper is self explanatory but let me explain the latter. Buy a cheap upper, get a good BCG and a Noveske barrel, add a DD or Troy rail. Same upper that Noveske sells but half the price.

I think Im going to hold out. I have my 308 bolt gun project that could serve the same purpose as the handirifle. Ill just get the barrel chopped to 16 -17" and thread it for a can. Use the saved money to put towards a can and some subsonic 308.

Obviously, the 308 is quieter due to being a bolt action. However, at the target they both seem about equal.

An AR upper would be nice for 300 blackout, but I already have this 308 project.

Thats why I am not buying a handi.

Meh, I disagree. Ive heard both and still think the 300BLK is quieter. Different tones though. Admittably, I have not watched the video yet.

All this is assuming that you are comparing the 300BLk AR to a 308 bolt. A 300BLk bolt vs 308 bolt is no contest.

Mine is for hogs and yotes only. Well, the occasional animal that is asking for it. A 308 bolt is infinitely better than the 300BLk at distances over 250yds.

Local shop here has a CMMG for $600, if you don't mind making the trip to abilene.

Finally got her set up with a Nikon 300 Blackout scope, Weaver XX-High rings and a little fore-end stock work (sanding inner stock and nylon bushing at barrel screw stud to improve free float)

Still some fine-tuning to do but had a nice 1 1/2" 3 shot group at 100yds using 125 grain ballistic tips and a 2 shot 2" group using the 220 grain Remington subsonic.

FYI...With a supersonic 100 yd zero you should be about 3 mils down to be dead on at 100 with the 220 grain subsonics. At almost $1 a shot any info I can help the OB with I would consider invaluable.

FWIW this is a fine little set up for anyone who wants to have a decent hog-killin, deer slaying, coyote annihilating single shot pack rifle.

Don't reload yet, but will definitely get into it , if only for the Blackout, since I eventually want to get the AAC 9' upper and a can for my SBR set-up.

I will say this,it's not a tackdriver, but it is a pretty sweet shooting gun for only having a 16" barrel.
Except for the weight of the scope it's like holding a Daisy Red Ryder in your hands.
And recoil was not bad at all, much less than I expected.

Of course I had just shot my AR after a switch to a Spikes T2 buffer and a Griffin brake/flash-hider and was probably still smiling from that tweak also.

I will say this also. I don't think I would put a bipod on this one. There is alot of the stock in contact with the barrel and despite some shimming etc. I think the pressure point a bipod would add would remove some of the free-floating these guns seem to require.

Probably better chance of me becoming a bammer fan than that ever happening, but I appreciate your fandom in that regard.
