What's your favorite rod/reel?
Hoping to add any to the collection this Christmas?
What will be your next purchase?

My favorite combo that I have is probably my Revo SX on a 7' MH Dobyns Savvy rod.
Next thing I need is a new spinning reel to put on my catfish/bull red pole, saltwater finally ate up the cardinal 104 I had on there. Something cheap again.

But does it have rails?!?

For real I'm thinking of trying one of those Lew's with 40 bearings in it. For 50 bucks I could do worse.

Thinking about maybe buying a Chronarch with a 7' St. Croix Tidewater but only if I can't find a M&P Shield in the next month.

It was a lame joke. Lew's reels always seem to have about double the bearings as any reel in the same price range, and if I'm not mistaken, are all metal. For $50 I figure I can determine what the catch is.

about to pair a couple new revos, (haven't decided which model yet) with a 7'6" xtra heavy duckett and another undecided rod

Freshwater - Rod is a 8 1/2 ft 4wt that I built off a St Croix blank. Reel is a Sage - it weights nothing.

Saltwater - Rod is a 9ft 8wt that I built off a Sage blank. It has all titanium furniture. The reel on it is a Tibor Riptide.

I would much rather fly fish if I could

For baitcasting

Curado reel on a 7ft rod that I made

Spinning
Shimano Stradic on a Diawa split grip rod.

I had a flawless Curado e5 on a Falcon Coastal that was stolen from me this past year.

I think I left it leaning against my jeep at my buddy's house one day and I pulled off without it. Was probably laying on the ground by the sidewalk and got scooped. To think I defend this place!

This thing was my baby. Always cleaned it and had a reel cover always when it wasn't being used.

I need a new catfish rig for the river.

I'd love an old school Bullwhip.
